PLAGIARISM POLICY

The Nwerash International Journal of Islamic Thought (NIJIT) maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism in all forms. To uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, every submission is subjected to strict plagiarism checks before being considered for publication.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying or reproducing another author’s words, ideas, or findings without proper acknowledgment.

  • Submitting previously published work as original.

  • Self-plagiarism (reusing significant portions of one’s own previously published work without citation or permission).

  • Inadequate or improper citation of sources.

2. Plagiarism Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software.

  • The acceptable similarity index is below 15% (excluding references and standard academic phrases).

  • Submissions exceeding this threshold are returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

3. Author Responsibility

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and unethical practices.

  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources are mandatory.

4. Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication):

  • The manuscript will be rejected immediately if under review.

  • If already published, the article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.

  • Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions.

  • The issue may be reported to the authors’ affiliated institutions.

5. Ethical Commitment

By submitting their work to NIJIT, authors agree to abide by the journal’s plagiarism policy and publishing ethics, ensuring academic honesty and respect for intellectual property rights.
